It is the 3rd year for my tiny garden. Again I started planting early in the kitchen. Tomatoes from seed, which for me is always a trick. Hoping this try works better. Dill, Cucumbers, Cosmos, Beans, always the norm. Potatoes, just 3 planted on Good Friday just like Grandpa N would have done. And a new attempt Corn.
After they sprouted and looked like they had a reasonably good start we put the skin on the greenhouse frame and moved all of them out there. More kitchen space. More sprouting.
I am learning but maybe too slowly. I started some bean seeds indoors and then read that beans do not do well if they are transplanted. I guess we will find out if that is true for the tiny garden. I do always leave some seeds in reserve just in case transplants fail or if early set outs get frost killed. Remembering frost can happening late here and to never ground plant things until the snow is off of Mica. Potatoes being the exception of course.
Mr. E is banned from the tiny garden. However, he is ever vigilant and barks at New arrivals until I show him they were planned by me and not dangerous. The “starved for color” items are always a wonderment to him.
So grateful for my tiny garden and the lessons God shows me through it’s care and growth.
