I read this book years ago. “My Life in Dog Years” by Gary Paulsen The book is well worth the read. I loved it. So much so it got me to considering using the concept for a blog entry. So here it is. My take on my life in my dog years.

This is Old Pete. He wasn’t actually my dog. He came with the house my family lived in when I was little. He may not have been “my dog” but in truth He was my Best Friend. We literally saw eye to eye.

This is Tazzie. She was actually my 1st Dog. I did share her with my husband but she was my 1st dog. The one I picked. She did everything with us. We called her our socially accepted dog because she went everywhere with us. Except to our work place of course.

Above you see Tazzie with her sons Edger and A.J.
Another life with the next dogs began.

We got this brilliant border collie. She could was very trainable. After she was old enough I had her pulling a homebuilt kicksled. After I rescued a lab pup, who was also brilliant, I ran two dogs using the kick sled.
You can now attribute another Paulsen book for this next life. I read “WinterDance” and fell in love with dogsledding. Two more dogs were added to the team. Admittedly we had more in common with Yukon Corneiious than Paulsen but run we did.

More to come..,
