O’Rally! St. Pat’s Run

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day… O.K. in honor of Spring… O.K. in honor of cabin fever and spring fever and we really need to get on the road and out of the house! O’Rally! Let’s Drive!

Grady, Mr. E and myself in the Baja we call Liberty. Gregg is driving 1 of his Bajas Ru 2

The Loops.

Clockwise: South from home. South on Sunnyside. Down Rocky Canyon. Up Yellowstone to the High Road. Out Wolf Lodge. Up Alder Creek to Fourth of July summit. The summit is the intersect point. After the intersect Enter the on ramp and drive 1-90 to Sherman exit. Drive Sherman to Lake Drive. Follow Lake Drive to Sunnyside. Up the hill to Ponderosa to Kitty. Past home to Sunnyside again and on the the end at the KWD.

Counter Clockwise: North from home. Down to Kitty on to Ponderosa. Down Sunnyside to Lake Drive. Onward to Sherman then Eastward on I-90. Run up I-90 to the Fourth of July summit. Intersect at the summit. Then continue down Alder Creek road to Wolf Lodge. Go out to the frontage road and continue to the High Road, continue down Yellowstone to Rocky Canyon. Up Rocky Canyon to the end point at KWD

We start at Home. Earlier this morning we had Grady flip a coin to determine which direction we would start from. We won the toss so we are pointing south for the start of the clockwise run of the loop.

The Rules:

If you get a ticket for speeding you are an automatic Loser!

During your drive, you need to stop somewhere along the route pre-intersect and post-intersect to take a selfie.

Grady and my pre-interset selfie.

This is Gregg’s pre-intersect selfie. He is obviously better at pictures.

The Intersect at The Summit

Gregg was already here when we pulled up. He said he had only beat us here by 20 secs. (as part of the rules he will have to give us a 20 second head start on the back trips.)

After the intersect, we part ways, Gregg down Alder Creek and Grady and I down I-90.

Gregg’s post-intersect selfie. Nice!

Alder Creek was a snowy, muddy run. Not to mention the Pot Holes! (I didn’t tell him what was in his post-intersect future. So glad we were not going back that way.)

Interstate back trip for us! Ahhhh.

This is Grady and my post-itersect snapshot.

Back trip was smooth sailing for us. We did see a Stater at the Wolf Lodge area. He didn’t follow us.

Gregg had a slow go driving down Alder Creek. Snow still abundant on the north side.

The Finish Line!

By some miracle We were at the finish first! Happy us. Victory! Sweet!

Winning is rare for us.

6 minutes later Gregg rolls up.

Liberty for The Win!

This was a Beautiful, warm, spring like day! A much needed outing and a very fun Rally.
